Jack was back to his old tricks yesterday with a couple of bouts with bradycardia, as the nurses explain, he sometimes is in such a deep sleep he forgets to breathe. He's probably thinking about the wonderful beach at Grandma and Grandpa Houlihan's house. The "bradys" have decreased the last week but it sure brings us back to reality when it occurs. Thankfully Mom and Dad have been around to stir Jack from his deep sleep and get him back to his normal breathing.

We are hoping that Jack will be weened of his continuous feeds this weekend and begin a more normal feeding schedule of every two hours. The continual feed that Jack has been on is providing him constant proteins and nutrients. If Jack reacts well to the new feeding program we are hopeful that he will soon begin bottle and breastfeeding.

Jack had a great visit with Grandpa Houlihan on Thursday. Jack's nurse Cathy was on hand to field all of Grandpa Houlihan's questions and concerns. Nicolay also stopped in to see young Jack and invite him up to the bachelor pad in Long Beach. Special thanks to John for stopping in and filling mom and dad in with the latest political scoops.

Thanks for checking in, we're hoping for continued progress this weekend.

I think Jack should write a book when he leaves the NICU... can you imagine how much gossip he has overheard in all the visits to the hospital!

His "tell all" book would a best-seller for sure!

Baby Jack! The MN connection keeps praying for you and your mom and dad. Sounds like you and your great uncle have that same breathing problem...forgetting to breathe when you're sleeping. You've got to stop that!

Yeah, Jack!! It's sounds like you're doing so well! I'm sorry I had to break our date night, but Special Aunt Kerry has been sick for a while now, and doesn't want to pass on any yucky germs...
I'll get down to see you soon,

Dear Margaret and Jim,

Congratulations on your little guy; he is just beautiful. He's going to fill out his long legs and arms and become a pitcher for the White Sox!
