Is it still snowing...............
Jack had a stable night, he still had a few spells of apnea but was able to pull himself out each time. The docs came by and said yesterday's transfusion of blood will hopefully help his red blood count, which in turn should assist with his oxygen intake and stabilize his breathing. I guess in short we're in a holding pattern, we'll wait and see today if Jack has fewer apneas and bradys.
It's hard to believe we're approaching our third week here at Northwestern, it seems like yesterday that we came to the hospital for a quick check-up. Did you know that before we were advised that we'd be having a baby we were placing an order for pick-up at Maggiano's. No wonder Jack is turning out to be quite an eater.
We've learned so much the last three weeks, experienced periods of joy and triumph, and the difficulty of seeing your young child undergo so many tests. We are so thankful to our families and friends who have supported us in every manner possible by your visits, flowers, dinners, email messages, gifts for Jack and so much more. Thanks again for coming along for the ride, keep your thoughts and prayers coming.
Love,
JMJ

Yo! Jack.
Let's say we sneak you out of that NICU for a couple hours. I think what you really need is a Big Al's beef & sausage combo, w/ fries of course, and a couple of pints at Butch's. (We'll think of something to explain the sudden weight-gain.)
How's your bracket coming? I'm sure like the rest of the fam you got Marquette going to at least the Sweet 16.
We're keeping our eyes on your blog and prayers in our hearts.
Love, Cousin John & Vicki
John Klug, clearly Jack has picked Marquette to win the Final Four. His godmother has taught him well in his first 3 weeks of life.
I want to know if the food is still waiting to be picked up at Maggianos.
Good work, Jack, on gaining weight! We're thinking and praying for you, little guy.
margaret and jim,
These pictures are geat--those long arms and legs stretched out. Can't imagine how hard it must be to spend three weeks at NU going back and forth. All the love this little guy is getting--nothing like love to make you grow! You guys are in our hearts and prayers--
Love,
Mary and John Mc
