Sunday, March 16, 2008

Saturday and Sunday were great days for Jack. The doctors increased Jack's feedings to 11cc's of breast milk. Everyday his food intake increases is significant, it means his stomach is maturing and his growth continues. Jack's weight climbed to 2lbs, 8 ounces. The docs are pleased with Jack's daily improvement and the consistent progress he has shown.

Jack was visited on Saturday by The Mehalek Clan, Mike,Lorrie,Jeff and Angela stopped by and brought awesome gifts for young Jack. He is becoming quite the clothes horse which will impress and hopefully be approved by his fashion coordinator Rocco. They were all very excited to meet Jack and see how big he actually is. Mike and Jeff were on hand to see Dad feed and change Jack.

As the Irish baby of the NICU, Jack treated the nursing staff to Irish soda bread, cookies and cupcakes as well as a late afternoon pizza snack. In return one of the nurses anonymously left a green Irish stocking cap for Jack to wear for St. Patrick's Day.

Today, Aunts Molly, Nora and Uncle John came by to check on Jack and were thrilled to see how well he is doing. Linda Knibbs Brady also stopped in bearing green St. Patrick's Day treats and gifts for Jack. Mom and Dad came home to a great dinner delivered by cousins Grace, Claire and Jack's bodyguard Danny. It was a wonderful treat. We also want to thank our good friends, the Kopplin's, Marzano's, Nolan's and Fr. Presta for the gorgeous flower arrangements that have brightened our home. Each was unique and so very thoughtful. We are extremely fortunate to be blessed with such kind and generous friends.

As our second week with Jack draws to a close, we look forward to the week ahead and his continued progress.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
JMJ

Oh, this sounds so good. Hope you and Jim are getting as much sleep as you can Marg, before your little bundle of love travels home. With spring, your little bud is going to really blossom. With all our love,
John and Mary Mc
