Mom went home from the hospital late Friday nite, it was a difficult day. After being at the hospital for a week and able to see Jack 24/7 it was painful to say goodbye. However, we were comforted knowing that we were leaving Jack in the loving and caring hands of the exceptional nursing staff.
On Saturday Jack met a number of his relatives including Great Uncle Mike (Houli in the Hood) Grandma Smith and Aunt Gert. They all were amazed at Jack's size, and enjoyed all of Jack's Irish items that adorn his current living quarters. The nurses and doctors in the NICU (neo natal intensive care unit) refer to Jack as the "Irish Baby", and of course this makes his Southside 100% Irish parents proud.
Earlier in the day, Jack was visited by Bonnie & Jerry Amado, who brought a special holy crib cross and angel to protect and watch over Jack.
Late afternoon, Jack was visited by future parents Aunt Molly & Uncle Peter, who just returned from their last ever vacation alone. Aunt Molly became a quick favorite of the nurses when she brought cupcakes for the staff.
